Folino Estate Scent Line | Package Design

The owners of Folino Estate are always thinking of new and creative ways to bring customers to their unique gift shop. This was the latest product launch; a Folino Estate wine-inspired scent line. There is hand soap, body lotion, bar soap, bath bombs, and body spray in various wine scents like Riesling, Bordeaux, and Sangria. I was so excited to work on this project and create the package design for the entire line. Check out the individual labels below do see the designs in more detail! Be sure to visit Folino Estate in Kutztown, Pa for a day filled with good wine, delicious food and unique gifts. I can't wait to work on more awesome project like this in the future! Stay tuned! -Kristen

Poster Designs | latest work at Folino Estate...

Hi! Kristen here! One of the best aspects of working at Folino Estate Vineyard & Winery is that they host the coolest events. For a good chunk of my design career I actually got really sick of designing posters, but I think I know why. I never got to be really creative and most of the "posters" consisted of what felt like a chapter book worth of copy. This made it really hard to create something visually appealing. Now I get to come up with creative and unique poster designs and Facebook cover graphics for each event. It's a lot of fun! It really is awesome being able to work in an environment where you're doing something different everyday. The combination of graphic design, photography, and web design keep my skills sharp. I already see myself growing and improving as an artist in so many ways. I'm so grateful for that! I've got to keep those creative juices flowing! Check out some posters I recently designed below:

Kristen's new adventure at Folino Estate!

Hey guys! Kristen here! So just wanted to give you all an update. It's been soooo busy that I haven't really had a chance to update you on my latest career adventure. Some of you may know that I was working as a Graphic Designer at Lafayette College for about five years. However, as of February I stepped down from my full-time, benefits included, paid vacation, unlimited sick days job at Lafayette. I know, I know. Why would I do that?! That's probably what you're thinking. But when God says it's time to move on... you just do it.

We rebranded and officially launched Prevailed Studios and Dearly Beloved Weddings in January of this year. Let me tell you that we've been so overwhelmingly blessed since day one. We were getting so many wedding and creative project inquires in a matter of weeks, that working full-time was actually holding us back! Christian and I took a HUGE leap of faith and I quit.

One door closed and another opened. I knew I still wanted to work as a designer, but had no idea where to begin my new part-time job search. That's when I reached out to Folino Estate. Folino Estate is a vineyard, winery, restaurant and event venue. When you walk into this place it literally feels like you're in Italy! Christian and I had been to this place before and were so amazed at how such a beautiful place is in the small quiet town of Kutztown, Pennsylvania. So anyway, a while back I remember seeing that they were looking for a part-time Graphic Designer. I figured the position was filled by now, but what the heck... I reached out anyway. Sure enough they were still looking for the right fit for the position!

Well, long story short I got the job part-time! It's been an incredible transition and a great place to work so far. I'm so grateful to the owners of Folino Estate for giving me a chance to work for them and also balance our time for our own business adventures too. With my new flexible schedule, I'm able to continue my creative career and also give time to the businesses and the future I'm building with my husband. There's nothing like working for someone that is encouraging and understands what it means to be a business owner and an entrepreneur. I'm excited to learn new things and become a vital part of the Folino Estate team.

Here is just a taste of some of the graphic work I've done since I've been at Folino Estate. Did I mention I get to photograph delicious food from their restaurant too! You can see some of the food photography here

Be sure to visit them and check out their website to learn more about upcoming events. You won't regret it! www.FolinoEstate.com

She's already worked with Prevailed Studios and Dearly Beloved Weddings on some photography projects. Of course we had to hook her up with some great design work! We're so excited to announce that she is now our exclusive makeup artist! Can't wait for all the creative collaborations to come in the near future!

Kingsway Church: Revo Worship | Logo & Shirt Design

Ashton, a worship leader from Kingsway Church reached out to us for some help with a shirt design. She had a vision for the design, but needed our expertise to bring it to life. With help from her original idea we created a few concepts for this design project. Here are the final options. We're pretty happy with how these turned out. They have a really cool vintage and hipster kind of look... which is right up our alley!

Our Logo Design | The Meaning Behind "Prevailed"

What our logo represents...

The Mountains: This reminds us of the obstacles, "mountains" we have and will overcome.
The Birds: A representation of our partnership and marriage.
The Rays of Light: GOD. He is the guiding light in our lives and the foundation.
Prov 19:21: This scripture is the meaning of our namesake, Prevailed. "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."

Version One: This is the version that we actually were planning on keeping. It was designed by kristen about 6 months ago. However, it still wasn't quite right. Kristen and I felt that this wasn't conveying the message of our brand. So, we tried tweaking it.

Version Two: with this version we tried to give the original logo a more flat look. we also thought by adding the circle it would ground the design a bit more. However, now it was starting to look a bit to "Cartoony", which wasn't the style we were going for. So again... back to the drawing board.

Final Logo: After many revisions, Kristen started from scratch. We started with the mountains, which really is the main imagery in our logo. These mountains have more of an artistic and "Sketchy" look. This better represents the artistry behind everything we create. then came "prevailed". We wanted our name to be clear and powerful. Overall this design was the exact style we had imagined. but this goes to show you that great ideas don't flourish overnight. They take lots of work and thought. We are so happy with how it turned out!
