The Many Looks of Little Miss Summer | Newborn Session

This newborn little girl, Summer came by the studio last week with her mommy and daddy. Christian and I got to photograph her for the first time. We loved posing her in all these different outfits. Isn't she adorable?! Here are some of our favorites from Summer's newborn session.

Our first Photography workshop was a success!

Teaching has always been a passion for Christian and I. We knew right away when we started Prevailed Studios that we wanted to someday host a photography workshop to teach people the basics of photography and how to begin using their camera. Well, our first photography workshop took place last weekend and it was a hit!

We created workbooks and taught everyone about aperture, shutter speed, ISO, composition and photo gear! Participants even got to work with a model, Kierrah to put their skills to the test at the end of the workshop. Christian and I felt like proud parents that day! Haha! It was so awesome to see that they actually learned something from our workshop. These ladies each have their own unique style of shooting and it's pretty stinkin' cool! Check out some behind the scenes shots and photos taken by some of our participants.

Thank you so much to Patti, Alex, Khadijah, Jollette and Kierrah! We're so glad you came!

Brycen | One Year Old!

Brycen came by the studio with his mommy and daddy the other day to take his 1st birthday photos. This little guy is just the cutest ever! We went with a nautical theme for his shoot. I really had a tough time narrowing down the photos from this session because there are just so many I love. Here are just some of our favorites from this 1st birthday session. :)

Jace | Newborn Session

We can't get enough of all these newborns, especially Jace! This little man stole my heart the minute I saw that hair! OMG! His Mommy and Daddy, Silvana and Matt are so blessed to have such a beautiful baby. We were so happy to photograph baby Jace because we actually photo graphed Silvana and Matt's wedding too. Actually, the day they came to the studio with their son, marked exactly one year since we photographed them on their wedding day April 1, 2016. How cool is that!?

Here are some of the best from Jace's session. If you guys haven't noticed yet, our newborn sessions tend to be very organic and not so "proppy" and posed. We feel that overusing props and large decorations really takes away from admiring the miracle of each unique child. We hope you like what you've been seeing. There is more to come for our newborn portfolio!

Aubree | Spring Photos

I cannot believe how big this little girl is getting! Christian and I have been photographing little Miss Aubree since she was a newborn! We always have fun photographing her. Throughout this whole session she had such a fun personality. She was dancing, talking, and being silly. To go along with her Easter dress, we added some subtle spring props. When Christian and I include props, we like to keep it minimal so that the focus is still on the child or subject of the photo. I think this worked out perfectly! Of course it helps that we have an awesome studio to shoot at! Here are some of our favorites from Aubree's session. The many faces of Aubree!

God is Good | We finally have a studio!

We are so excited to announce that we finally have a studio! It was a long and unsure process, but God was with us thorough it all. We're so thankful for God's provision. This is a big deal for Prevailed. With this space we'll be able to shoot pretty much any thing at any time , rain or shine. Our studio is located in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Contact us today setup you're shoot! So excited for the future! Here are some photos:

Our Logo Design | The Meaning Behind "Prevailed"

What our logo represents...

The Mountains: This reminds us of the obstacles, "mountains" we have and will overcome.
The Birds: A representation of our partnership and marriage.
The Rays of Light: GOD. He is the guiding light in our lives and the foundation.
Prov 19:21: This scripture is the meaning of our namesake, Prevailed. "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."

Version One: This is the version that we actually were planning on keeping. It was designed by kristen about 6 months ago. However, it still wasn't quite right. Kristen and I felt that this wasn't conveying the message of our brand. So, we tried tweaking it.

Version Two: with this version we tried to give the original logo a more flat look. we also thought by adding the circle it would ground the design a bit more. However, now it was starting to look a bit to "Cartoony", which wasn't the style we were going for. So again... back to the drawing board.

Final Logo: After many revisions, Kristen started from scratch. We started with the mountains, which really is the main imagery in our logo. These mountains have more of an artistic and "Sketchy" look. This better represents the artistry behind everything we create. then came "prevailed". We wanted our name to be clear and powerful. Overall this design was the exact style we had imagined. but this goes to show you that great ideas don't flourish overnight. They take lots of work and thought. We are so happy with how it turned out!

Alicia's Maternity Session

Two years ago I photographed Alicia and her husband Toni, to celebrate their engagement, so it's been quite some time since we last spoke. Well she reached out to me a few weeks ago with some exciting news. They're expecting a baby boy this winter! So of course she wanted to take some maternity photos. I was so excited!

Alicia is about 7 months pregnant in these photos, which was actually perfect. I always advise expecting mothers to take their maternity photos around 7 months or so because at this time mommies have the perfect sized bump that doesn't make them feel uncomfortable or too worn out from taking photos. It also ensures that you actually get some maternity photos, because I've had some cancelled sessions in the past due to early deliveries.

Alicia is absolutely stunning in these. Here are some of my favorites from her session.
